The California Board of Nursing is located in beautiful Sacramento, California. It is a large organization, but it's also very well run and organized.
They respond to inquiries rather quickly and are very helpful. All California nursing jobs will require a license through their licensing board.
California doesn't participate in the compact license program that some other states enjoy, so you will need to get the Ca. license before practicing in the state.
The licensing process is fairly straight forward but the board has a significant application process.
Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to process the application before you are to start your travel assignment. California does require fingerprinting but that is also easy to do before or after you get there.
The physical address for the board is:

Things to do in California
There is so much to do in California, you won't have time to work! You have beaches, mountains, large cities and small, quaint towns. The diversity is one of the things to really enjoy about California.
If you prefer a warmer and temperate climate, southern California may be for you, where you can enjoy the beach and water sports. Then there is Death Valley - the largest national park in the contiguous United States. Desert flowers, incredible mountain views, and stark sand dunes are abundant. You can hike or camp in the park to really experience all it has to offer.
Northern California is a huge contrast from the south. It has the 4 seasons. You can hike, ski, camp, snowmobile or visit vineyards. Or you can soak up some culture or fun in some of the cities available to you are San Francisco, Sacramento, Modesto, Fresno, San Jose, Crescent City, and Willits.
