You have a wonderful state to work in and many different kinds of specialties and locations to choose from. When deciding on nursing jobs in Florida, you fist need to decide on the experience you would like to have. Do you envision a beach in Clearwater, Miami, Daytona, Naples, Jacksonville or Ft. Lauderdale? They all have lovely ones, but they will all offer a very different lifestyle. The southeast will offer great nightlife and a decidedly latin flavor. It's something to not be missed. The northeast will give you a laid back area with lots of water, and plenty to do. Jacksonville is a very large city and St. Augustine, the oldest city in America, is close by. West central florida offers many great beaches, teaching hospitals and community hospitals. East central Florida will give you NASA, Daytona International Speedway and a much calmer lifestyle. Would you like to stay with Mickey Mouse for awhile? Orlando has several large hospitals and several smaller community hospitals to choose from. Gainesville will give you the University and a small town feel. There are many beautiful horse farms close by, as well. The panhandle, with Pensacola, has not only beautiful beaches, but a large military presence. There are many different nursing environments to choose from. Be sure to check out the Florida Board of Nursing for all of the licensing information. Being a travel nurse in Florida can offer whatever you are looking for.
