Be sure to see Iowa nursing jobs for lots of great information on Iowa travel nursing jobs that will give you everything you need. Iowa is a great state that may not be at the top of most travel nurses thoughts. This is a shame. (Hmmm, I don't say this only because I was born in Iowa.) It is a great midwestern state with plenty to do depending on your needs.

While the cities aren't huge, there is always something going on. There are also several college cities with large teaching hospitals where you will learn while you work. You can also go to a smaller town or rural area for a nice change.

When you are ready to do a travel nursing job in Iowa take the time to fill out one of our applications and get in touch with the Iowa Board of Nursing to get started on your travel nurse career.

Things to do in Iowa

Iowa has the vibrant capital of Des Moines and charming, small rural towns that dot the state. While none of the cities are really large, there is always something going on. Des Moines has great restaurants, art galleries, nightlife, museums, theater and opera. It's located a stone's throw away from numerous fun outdoor activities like biking, golfing and hiking and amusement parks.

The Missouri River and Mississippi River are both great opportunities for the normal water activities - fishing, camping, swimming and boating. They also offer the excitement of riverboats for not only a slow stroll down the river but, for the casinos, as well.

The Amana colonies, just outside of Cedar Rapids, offer a taste from the Amish. Yes, taste! You'll enjoy some of the finest home style, German cooking offered in the United States. Wine tastings, artwork, crafts and a beautiful landscape are also draws to this charming community.

The Hawkeye State has great midwestern values and friendly people. Iowa is also very close to many other midwestern cities you might enjoy. Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and more are an easy drive for a nice weekend.
