The Kentucky Board of Nursing is located in Louisville, Ky. Kentucky is one of the compact states so you will be able to work on your home Kentucky license in any of the other compact states.
If you are currently a resident of another compact state and have their license, you can work in Kentucky on your home license. This makes traveling very easy to do.
The board has tons of online services available. Some of them are renewal, licensing, application and forms, education, laws and regulations. They cover the nursing disciplines of RN, LPN/LVN, and NP (Nurse Practitioner). If you have any of these licenses you will need to contact them for traveling to Kentucky.
You will find that this nursing board is really easy to work with. They are very receptive to questions and take the time to help you through the process if necessary. Things to do in Kentucky
Kentucky is a dichotomy of the old and new. It has very progressive cities with nightlife, museums, art galleries, upscale shopping, restaurants and large teaching hospitals. There are also small towns with Bluegrass music, outdoor activities and traditional family values that will conjure up images of Norman Rockwall.
Bluegrass music is a staple, as are horses. Be sure to see the famous Kentucky Derby with all of it's history. The names of Secretariat, Nashua, Smarty and Man O’War are all familiar and they have left their legacy in this state.
You will also find many lesser known stables dotted throughout the state that you can tour or even take some lessons at. You will enjoy it immensely if you are a horse lover.
The lakes region is full of water activities. Swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing and hiking are all available in some of the most beautiful countryside that you will ever see. Whether it is summer or winter activities, they are both available. The Bluegrass State truly offers something for everyone.
