There are grizzly bears, caribou, wolves, Dall sheep and moose running throughout the state.
Kodiak Island, reached by air or sea only, is home to a large population of grizzly bears. They are a truly incredible sight.
The capital, Juneau, is in the Alaskan panhandle. This is the place to go for some awesome glacier viewing.
Anchorage is the states largest city at 260,000. It is full of outdoor activities, nightlife, museums, art and some great food. Alaska nursing jobs are always available. You don't even need to go with the summer months to have a wonderful travel nurse experience.
Be sure to do some of the expected while you are in Alaska. Camping, fishing, hiking, gold panning and a sea plane trip. All of these activities and more are at your doorstep when you are up to the challenge of Alaska travel nursing.
